To What Extent Does Environmental Quality Affect House Prices?
im doing a project for my a-levels but am really stuck! my chosen area is brighton, which ive disected into 5 zones.
1. Rottingdean
2. Inner city
3. Marina
4. Hangleton
5. Suburbs
Im wondering if anyone knows if environmental quality has an impact, and how much of an impact when compared to other factors e.g. schools etc.
Category: house prices
Think about it, if an area is really polluted (inner city) then house prices would tend to fall. But there are a lot of people in the inner city, and probably a lot of work…so it attracts people and increasing house prices. So where is the equilibrium?
In the suburbs, especially with good transport links, house prices would be expensive.
There are lots of issues to consider: pollution, density, demographics, transport etc
