I’m reading that the screen is plastic and easily scratches. I read other reviews stating that the sound isn’t that great…but I have nothing to compare to. I’d sure like your opinion, recommendations, suggestions, etc. Thanks! Ferg
What is forgiven debt in relation to mortgage short sales? How do I go about pursueing this?
Our mortgage was just sold to Citimortgage and they are awful. I have tried to work with them but have gotten know where. I would like to file a complaint but am not sure who to file it woth.
I guess I’m worried about getting ripped off from car dealers. I’ve never bought a new car before. Can you guys tell me some important pointers to look out for? Or some important things to consider before and after the purchase? I’m thinking about getting a new Honda Accord. Maybe 07 or newer.
I am 62 and thinking about semi-retiring. I would like information concerning mortgage loan originators. How much do they make on average? Do you have to work for a bank or other lender or can you work freelance? How do you obtain the necessary training?
All a house price shows is the level of demand for that type of house in that area.
The higher the demand the higher the price will be. Desirable areas (good schools, proximity to services/attractions) will always achieve a premium in the market. Therfore the higher prices in an area the more in demand that area is.
Its simple economics really. Supply and Demand.
Should we hire an attorney and try to get the mortgage voided? Sue the broker?
They put in on the market and had about 50 offers the first open house. They moved back here with their baby. They lived with me for 6 to 8 months and then bought a house in the small town we live in. My daughter thought she wanted it because she has always liked old houses and it is in the Historical Society, It is a 2 story which is very pretty from the outside. They have owned it about 2 years. They have had trouble with plumbing, gas leaks from inside and electrictal problems that were dangerous.. They had crumbling that looked like sand came through the paper and also mold. They had a lady look at it from Col. OH. who know about restoring old house but this one was already supposed to be restored. She saw the sand crack in the corner and asked to look in the basement. She went all around it and saw falling brick and cracks that went to the top of basement. She said the house was just sittting on so many pieces of rock because it had a old tunneled out sandstone basement .
Asking price = $67,500
My First Offer= $60,000
They did NOT accept OR counter offer
My Second offer= $63,000
The MOST I can go= $63,500
My question is.. do I sound desperate (and they’ll try to get more out of me).. or is that the best thing I could have done. I really love the house, but i don’t want them to know I love it. It’s in a really nice neighborhood which is important because I have 2 children. I’ve done a lot of househunting and for the location it is a good price.. but when you look in it, it is nice BUT needs a few updates which brings the value lower than neighboring houses. Only thing is it’s only been on the market for 2 days! Is that bad for me? Or does it matter? Isn’t $63,000 a pretty good offer for a house they are asking $67,500 for? I’m hoping for at LEAST a counteroffer… then all I can do is $63,500, take it or leave it. I can’t even come up with a penny more than that.. that is SOLID LINE all I have to offer!
We have a large tree (the oldest, largest in the neighborhood) sitting smack-dead on the property line between our house and our neighbor’s house. We have new neighbors who are complaining about an “obstructed view” of the street (and why someone would rather see a street and neighbor’s houses than a tree I have no idea) and want to either cut the tree down or prune it to the point of deformation. We are refusing. Not only does the tree provide an excellent canopy over the entire front yard, it provides shade to the house which helps keep our energy bills low.
What, if any, are the liability concerns? What happens if the neighbor prunes and damages the tree without our permission?
We live in Ohio, by the way. We do not have a Home Owner’s Association.
I would like to lie about my age on a mortgage application. I have 730 Fico, a 400K Gross small business corp and 30K in brokerage account. However if i disclose my low age my broker and agent might not make me seriously ? What will happen if I list an incorrect age?

A new outdoor playground was just installed at a school in our neighborhood. It is on school property next to a field which includes a baseball diamond, basketball court and tennis court. But the placement of the playground structures make it obviously part of the school rather than the park. Will I be able to bring my 3 year old to play there outside of school hours? Since it is school property will I be trespassing if I bring him there on the weekend or after school gets out?
I make good money. I want to buy a place and rent out an inlawsuite. but qualifying for a loan is impossible? ps make 30k. 0 debt. own my car.
My wife and I got married in 2009 so we will be filing separate returns for 2008. We are buying a house and I am wondering if she can claim the credit on her return even though we are buying the house together(I don’t want to claim it on mine because I made more than 75k last year and she did not)? Or do we have to wait and take the credit next year when we file a joint return?
