Aren’t Falling House Prices Great For Recent College & High School Grads? Should We Thank Bush?

How would you like to be getting out of college and see the price of houses so high that you expect to never be able to afford one?
Aren’t kids who are about ready to graduate happy because they are see that houses are likely to be more affordable after they save up money for a few years?
Or would Dems rather that these kids suffer and never be able to afford a house?
My kid is just getting out of college, and he’s happy that housing prices are becoming more affordable. Smart kid. Right?

well. its six in one hand, half dozen in the other. think about how many college students can’t get jobs because of the freeze on the economy. How will they afford homes if they can’t even get jobs? When I’m done with law school, I’ll be so afraid that its going to get worse than it is now. I’m not a Bush fan and I don’t see anything positive at all coming from the Bush Administration. I would rather have a career than an affordable house.

As long as he has a good job to pay the house payment and doesn’t go with an adjustable rate mortgage.

You’re forgeting that college grads have to pay back their $80,000 in school loans first. When they find out their degree only gets them a $22,000 a year job as a Wendy’s manager, that house ain’t so cheap anymore.

I work at a University and the kids are struggling to get jobs as most companies have hiring freezes and then they usually have exorbitant student debt so they can’t afford the house. Beyond that mortgages are becoming more and more difficult for those with solid credit to get.

Lol, if you aren’t smart enough to get a astronomically high paying job with a physics degree then you wouldn’t have made it through high school. Lol!

it might be. but it’s really bad for the elderly people who were planning on selling their house and making some retirement money. everything else is still expensive.

  8. Yes, economic turmoil is always a good thing.
    Thanks, Chimpy!

  9. Yes. I’m sure they will be able to afford those homes with their 8.00/hr job at the local Burger King. Would you like fries with that degree in physics?

is he thankful for all the cuts being made to secondary education? Cause i know it sure is getting more and more expensive to go to college. nothing like having more and more debt and no job. but hey at least you have a college degree.
